Baptist Theological Seminary is pleased to welcome Dr. Tom Farrell to speak at the annual Monroe Parker Lecture Series on Friday, March 15, 2019.

We are honored to have Dr. Tom Farrell discuss the topic, “Preaching in Today’s Culture.” Dr. Farrell will address the need for thorough sermon preparation, bold proclamation, and direct application in a rapidly changing world. He will demonstrate the need for sermons to be Scriptural, simple and straightforward – sermons that exalt the Savior, evangelize the sinner, and encourage the saint.

Dr. Farrell has been traveling in evangelism since 1979. He has preached throughout the United States and over thirty foreign countries, and continues to preach in local church revivals, area-wide campaigns, Christian colleges, camps, and on many mission fields. Over forty years of preaching make Dr. Farrell uniquely qualified for this particular lecture series. You will not want to miss this occasion.

Dr. Monroe Parker

This lecture series is named in honor of Dr. Monroe Parker.  Dr. Monroe Parker had an earned doctorate and yet had a evangelistic zeal burning in his heart. He combined scholarship with fervency.  He also was a man who stood uncompromisingly for the truth.  We have chosen to name this lecture series after him because he embodies the burden we have for the topics to be covered on this day.
